Youth Programs Conducts Successful Operation Mega Phone Event
To celebrate the Month of the Military Child, Air Force, Army, Marine, Navy and Coast Guard Youth Centers hosted the 2nd annual Operation Mega Phone (OMP) event. Military teens from all services helped plan and participated in a global Youth Lock-In to discuss pertinent issues facing military families, conduct service learning projects and network virtually with other military teens. The 2014 Operation Mega Phone event included 148 military installations with more than 5,500 youth; an increase of 43 installations and 3,200 youth from the inaugural 2013 event. Air Force Youth Programs alone registered 61 AF installations and had more than 2,400 AF teens come together to support the program, learn skills and make a positive difference in their community. The promotional video created by AF teens from the OMP planning committee can be viewed here.
