Air Force Child and Youth Programs Provide Camp Opportunities for Families
Air Force Child and Youth Programs (CYP) provided a wide range of camp experiences this summer and will continue throughout the year. 2015 youth and teen residential camps included: Aviation Camp at the USAF Academy, Space Camp at the Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL and Teen Leadership Camp in San Antonio, TX. Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard youth participated in Teen Leadership Summits that support the total force. If families were unable to travel to a camp, CYP brought the camp experience to the installation through specialty camps hosted on the base. These camp programs included: performing arts, science, sideline sports, music, cooking, soccer, Missoula Children’s Theatre, and others. Each camp offered distinct focus areas and built leadership skills, self-confidence, teamwork, and fostered a sense of belonging to the Air Force community. CYP also partners with other youth serving organizations and through the AF 4-H Partnership, 19 camps in 14 states were offered and 40 Military Teen Adventure camps are currently being provided through a partnership between the Department of Defense and USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture. Military Teen Adventure camps continue throughout the year and you can register or learn more at:
