Mr. Sean Tatum, an Air Force Child and Youth Programs teacher at the Vogelweh AB Child Development Center, was awarded the Red Cross Lifesaving Award of Merit. This award is presented to an individual who voluntarily uses his/her skills and knowledge learned in an American Red Cross health and safety course to save or sustain a life. On 1 July 15, Sean used his Red Cross training to dislodge food from the airway of a choking child. His quick response and action resulted in saving the life of a 12 month old child in the CDC classroom. Air Force Child and Youth Programs is proud of Mr. Tatum for utilizing his training and acting under pressure to keep our children safe.
