12 Walking Tips
  • Bend your arms at slightly less than a 90-degree angle and swing the gently from front to back.
  • Do not over stride and take long steps and do not use arm movements that are too vigorous.
  • Don’t carry hand weights or place weights on your ankles,  your body weight is just fine.
  • Don’t forget to breathe naturally and deeply.
  • Don’t look at the ground – look straight ahead.
  • Keep your chest raised, and shoulders relaxed – which means they should be down, back and relaxed.
  • Pretend you are walking along a straight line and if you want to walk faster – take smaller and faster steps.
  • Start with a warm-up which can be 5-10 minutes before picking up the pace for the rest of the walk.
  • Use good posture which means your chin should be level and your head up.
  • Walk while landing on your heel first and roll through the step and push off with your toes.
  • Walk with tight abs and buttocks.
  • Wear comfortable well-fitting shoes that are lightweight and breathable.
