Stand Up For Yourself

Stop slouching! That rounded back, those slumped shoulders and that pooched-out belly are making your muscles work harder to keep you balanced. That’s when back pain, fatigue and headaches set in. Good posture keeps those ailments at bay – and makes you look thinner too.

Stand tall to boost your confidence and health. Check yourself regularly for these four simple positions and soon you’ll find yourself standing tall, working out better, and feeling better all around. Have kids? Make good posture a family affair.

  • Feet: Place your feet parallel and close together when you stand, distributing
    your weight evenly on both feet.
  • Belly: Pull in your belly button when you stand and walk. It doesn’t hurt to pull
    it in when you’re sitting, either.
  • Chest: Lift your chest and keep your shoulders back and relaxed.
  • Eyes: Keep your head centered between your shoulders with your eyes forward
    and your gaze straight ahead.
