Ingredients 1 large head broccoli 2 tablespoons olive oil 6 tablespoons Parmesan or Pecorino cheese, grated ½ to 1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes 1 teaspoon dried oregano Juice of ½ lemon (about 1 tablespoon) Coarse sea salt and fresh-cracked black pepper
PREPARATION 1. Steam the whole head of broccoli or break it into bite-size pieces (including the stems). Cook until you can easily insert a knife into the thickest part of the stem (about 20 minutes for a whole head and 5-6 minutes for pieces). Drain when done.
2. Preheat the broiler. Place the broccoli in a broiler-proof baking dish and drizzle it with oil, then sprinkle it with cheese, pepper flakes and oregano.
3. Broil broccoli until the cheese is browned, about 2-3 minutes.
4. Remove from broiler and sprinkle with lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
