Zesty Citrus Salsa

Boost your winter blues with the bright tastes of winter citrus. This salsa is a great companion to low-cal chips or served as a condiment with baked fish or chicken. If you’re making it ahead, wait until you’re just about to serve it before stirring in the avocado and cilantro.

INGREDIENTS

3 cups orange or blood orange sections, chopped (about 4 oranges)
2½ cups pink grapefruit sections, chopped (about 2 large grapefruit)
¼ cup minced red onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon minced jalapeño pepper (more or less to taste)
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
½ teaspoon kosher salt
1 avocado, peeled and diced 


PREPARATION

1. Place all ingredients in a bowl and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately.
